On Saturday, November 11th there will be a ceremony at Jack Laughery Park in Rocky Mount at 11:00 to honor all the veterans who have served and are currently serving. A POW/MIA tribute will be performed followed by a three-rifle volley salute by the Nash Central NJROTC and the playing of “Taps”.

Whitakers Revitalize and Preserve’s BBQ Chicken Fundraiser and Bake Sale is on Saturday, November 11th from 11 to 2 at 103 West Pittman Street in Whitakers. Louisburg United Methodist Church’s Bazaar is on Saturday, November 18th from 7 to 1. A country breakfast will be served from 7 to 9:30. You can find bake sale items, crafts, fried peanuts, resale items and made-to-order baskets. Santa Claus will visit from 9:30 to 10:30. Proceeds will fund various missions.
